Dr Leavitt attended dental school at Oregon Health & Science University where he graduated with honors in 2007 with his Doctorate in Dental Medicine. He was also inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and received the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Implant Award as a dental student.
Dr Leavitt completed a six-year residency program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. While at Mayo Clinic, Dr Leavitt was trained in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with management of a broad scope of ailments associated with the mouth, dentition, and facial structures. He is a published scientific author in the Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and has been an invited speaker across the country in both academic settings and national oral surgery summits. He is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr Leavitt also obtained his Medical Doctorate from Mayo Medical School, graduating in 2011. As one of the finest medical schools in the world, he was under the tutelage of world experts from the various fields of medicine. He maintains active medical licensure in the state of Minnesota along with dental and specialty licensure in the state of Nevada.
Dr Leavitt practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with expertise ranging from corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery and wisdom tooth removal to dental implant reconstruction and pathology. He is also proficient in the diagnosis and surgical management of facial trauma injuries. His residency included intensive training in the administration of anesthesia with a formal four-month rotation as an anesthesia resident in the operating room at Mayo Clinic.
Dr Leavitt is happily married to his lovely wife. They have five young and energetic children. In his free time, he enjoys running and cycling, playing piano and pipe organ, and composing music.
The Mayo brothers were well-known for having provided patient centered attention to all who sought their expertise.
